Membership Terms and Conditions Membership Terms and Conditions

Here, you will find important information about library membership and data protection.

Joining the Library

Membership of Glasgow Libraries is free and open to all. You can join at any one of our venues by completing a membership application form either online or in person.

If you are using the online application form, you will be issued with a temporary membership number which will allow you to use our online services and reserve books.* You will then need to visit one of our libraries, bringing along identification that contains proof of your address such as a driving license, council tax or utility bill. You will then be issued with your full library membership card.

There are no age restrictions in becoming a library member, however if you are aged under 14 years, you will need a parent or carer’s signature on the application form and identification should be provided by the person signing the form.

*A full membership card is required to borrow eBooks, Audiobooks and eMagazines.
